Two Living Languages at School

Our Communication-Based Language Education Philosophy
Our Communication-Based Language Education Philosophy: As TAK Schools Beylikdüzü Campus, we believe that the most important function of language is being a communication tool. We adapted the two living languages at school education model that emerged in the United States to our country’s demographic and cultural characteristics and turned it into the “Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) Model”. This system, which starts at the age of 3 and is applied most intensely until the ages of 8-9, ensures that our students are constantly exposed to the target language. Our main goal is to equip our students with listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in English with the competence of their native language and to enable them to conduct the academic program in two languages.
Team Teaching According to Levels
In the preschool period, our English education coaches, who accompany the classroom teachers full-time, ensure that all instructions given in Turkish and daily classroom language are also used in English. At the primary school level, the system is conducted with the “Team Teaching” approach; both teachers in the classroom are equally educators and work in collaboration. Our education coaches are included in the process in the last 10-15 minutes of lessons such as mathematics, science, and visual arts, and transfer the English terminology of the subjects covered in that lesson to our students. In addition, weekly English skills training is supported by special materials. At the middle school level, English content, predominantly science and mathematics, is carried out by branch teachers using international resources.

Living Language Environment and Two Living Languages at School Campus
By taking English out of textbooks, we make it the living second language of the school. Signboards, warning signs, direction texts, and boards located in all physical spaces of our school are prepared in two languages, Turkish and English. While the development report cards, certificates, and transcripts given to our students are prepared two living languages at schoolly; both languages are actively used in verbal announcements, ceremony presentations, and stage performances.
